Genevieve of Paris
A 5th-century consecrated virgin, she is famous for having, through her prayers and courage, convinced the inhabitants not to abandon their city in the face of Attila the Hun's advance.

Born around 422 in Nanterre, Genevieve is a major figure in Parisian hagiography. From a young age, she dedicated herself to God under the guidance of Saint Germanus of Auxerre. She moved to Paris and lived a life of asceticism and prayer. She is most famous for encouraging the Parisians to resistance and prayer in the face of Attila the Hun's invasion, which is said to have spared the city. She also reportedly obtained food for the besieged city and interceded for various miracles. She is considered the protectress of Paris and died around 512.
