Ingrid of Skänninge (also known as Ingrida Elofsdotter) was a relative of the Swedish royal house. After a pious youth and a memorable pilgrimage to the Holy Land, she chose to dedicate herself entirely to God. She became a Dominican nun and was instrumental in founding the Dominican convent of Saint Mary in Skänninge, Sweden, around 1272. Known for her profound piety, charity towards the poor, and humility, she is venerated as a Blessed in the Catholic Church.
