Saint Gregory of Narek, an eminent figure of the Armenian Apostolic Church, lived at the Monastery of Narek in the historical Kingdom of Vaspurakan. He is the author of numerous theological and poetic works, including the celebrated «Book of Lamentations» (Narek), a profound meditation on the human condition, repentance, and divine love. His teaching, imbued with mysticism and wisdom, profoundly influenced Armenian spirituality. He was proclaimed a Doctor of the Universal Church by Pope Francis in 2015, thereby recognizing him as a master of faith for the entire Catholic Church.
