Lucian of Beauvais
A 3rd-century missionary, he is considered one of the apostles of northern Gaul, where he was martyred by decapitation.

Saint Lucian of Beauvais is a major figure in the evangelization of Gaul in the 3rd century. Sent by the Pope, he led a group of missionaries including Julian and Maximian. He settled in Beauvais, where he founded the first Christian community and became its first bishop. He was martyred, decapitated, during Roman persecutions, his severed head continuing to preach according to hagiographical legend.
