Justin

Saint Justin, a Christian philosopher and theologian of the 2nd century, is one of the most important Apologist Fathers. Born in Flavia Neapolis (modern Nablus) in Samaria, he converted to Christianity after a long philosophical quest, finding in Christ the "true philosophy." He is famous for his two 'Apologies' and his 'Dialogue with Trypho', in which he defends the Christian faith against pagans and Jews, using both philosophical and scriptural arguments. He taught in Rome and was martyred by beheading around 165 under Emperor Marcus Aurelius, along with several of his disciples. He is venerated as a bridge between ancient wisdom and Christian revelation.
